21 Days Meatless

If you are around me or follow my social, you may have noticed my intake has changed up a bit. I am a full week into a 21 day, off the ground tree based nutrition prescription. Pasta, bread, dairy, coffee, and energy drinks are also kicked from the intake along with meat.

Why did you decide to do this?

One of my friends made it known that no one ever joined him on this nutrition shake up each January. So, me being me, I opened my mouth. Here we are a full week into it, and I am thankful he is along for the ride. It helps to have someone else working through and overcoming the issues you are facing, especially when it is along the same/similar time frame.

How do you feel?

I feel fine now. On the front end, there were the normal headaches and pains physically, but mentally I have had very little issue. The physical pains are attributed to the cessation and abstinence of sugars and caffeine.

Also, to help I have made sure to keep myself more active. I attack the weight room 3-4 times per week as well as hit the heavy bag at home 15-30 min 2-3 times per week.

Have you started to enjoy the meals you are eating?

In our home, we consume a large amount of fruits and vegetables in general. The transition has allowed my wife (coach Nev) to prepare some of our favorite meatless dishes in greater quantity and frequency. My favorite being curried chick peas and rice. I also add avocado whenever possible. My saving grace though, has been cashew butter. I use cashews normally as a tool to ward off cravings for fried/savory foods. Try it the next time you find yourself in need.
