Practice for “Big Moments”
Practice for “Big Moments”- Reclaim Your Focus and Presence
When you have a big moment and you feel anxious or nervous, here’s a quick practice.
Take a step back
Full breath in, full breath out. Close your eyes if you want to
Bring your hands together, wipe them together, and throw it away
Give a verbal “Let’s go” and get back to it
A lot of times this helps you reset into the present moment, feel your presence rather than the moment, and allows you to focus on the task at hand.
Practice this BEFORE you hit adversity and you’ll be ready.
Preparation = Separation
Here’s a walkthrough of one of my foundational habits.
Every Sunday I review the upcoming week on my calendar and my habit app. I make the necessary adjustments and prepare for my core schedule of events.
Remember: just because it works for me does not mean you have to or should do it exactly the same.
That said, reviewing your week before it starts allows you an opportunity to prepare in advance of your scheduled events.
