Box Breathing Walk Through

This is an example of an effective breathing practice.

Work each for 1 minute—3 minutes (there is no limit)

Breath Awareness:

  • Bring attention to your breathing tempo and how your body is responding with each breath

Breathing tempo

  • Practice controlling the tempo of each breath. Notice how your body responds to a 4 count tempo…practice toward an 8 count + tempo

Box Breathing

  • Notice how your body responds to tempo through each piece of the box breathing cycle. Practice working toward an 8 count exhale and hold
